DESCRIPTION:Try tapestry weaving and discover the unique design elements possible while using your own hand-spun\, novelty yarns and hand-dyed yarns. Students will weave a small tapestry landscape contrasting these textured fibers with smoother commercial yarn. We will discuss loom set up\, the basics of tapestry weaving\, and how to approach designing a simple landscape. The instructor will provide all materials including looms and yarn\, discuss the finishing of tapestry\, and show examples of her work. All levels of experience are welcome\, including complete beginners and those with some weaving background.
