SUMMARY:Design & Color Seminar Series
DESCRIPTION:Design and Color Seminar Series with Briony Jean Foy\n\nApril 15\, 22\, 29\, 2020 (You can choose to take one\, two\, or all three sessions) | 6-7:30pm | Ages 14+\n\n590 Water St\, Prairie du Sac\, WI 53578\n\nClass Fee: $25/session\n\n \n\nBASICS OF 2-D DESIGN SEMINAR: April 15\, 2020\n\nIn this course we'll talk about the process of design and design development by examining basic design elements such as balance\, line and shape\, abstraction\, texture and value\, perspective\, and pattern. You'll learn how to generate a design\, how to apply design thinking and theory\, and how to present and evaluate design. [No experience necessary or can be a good review.]\n\nCOLOR. COLOR? COLOR! April 22\, 2020\n\nCurious? Frustrated? Learn the basics of Color Theory: Hues\, Tints\, Shades\, Tones\, Contrasts and Harmonies. This class is really about learning how to recognize and work with the inherent color knowledge we all have within. Once you understand the theory you will be able to organize and verbalize that knowledge. That means you can articulate why choices work or don't work and make better\, conscious decisions about how to use color. [This workshop is designed for everyone from professional artists and designers\, to novices who just want to explore their creative side.]\n\nDESIGN and COLOR BASICS CRITIQUE: April 29\, 2020\n\nNo matter what medium you use\, all artwork depends on basic design elements such as balance\, line and shape\, texture\, value\, pattern\, color\, and presentation. Learning how to step back and consider your work with those elements in mind will improve your work and let you enjoy the process of creating even more! \n\nConstructive criticism trains your eye\, develops problem-solving skills\, and helps you articulate design ideas clearly. As a group\, in a comfortable and relaxed setting\, we'll look at your work and discover how you can make past and future work better. I promise it won't be painful and we can help each other grow as artists.\n\n[No experience necessary\, although IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that you take one or both of the above classes first. Any medium\; fiber\, paint\, clay\, etc.\, 2-D or 3-D]
