DESCRIPTION:Join members as we take a time to learn about various topics that will help grow our business while sharing in conversation over lunch. These sessions are from 11:30   1:00 pm\, and members are encouraged to send as many staff as they would like to these training forums. \n\n\n\nWorkplaces Respond to Domestic Abuse\n\nAs a result of the abuse they're experiencing\, domestic violence survivors often report having their work performance suffer and losing their job. Yet\, economic insecurity is frequently cited as the main barrier to leaving an abusive partner. All of us have a role to play in stopping this cycle of violence. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month\, the Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce invites you to Workplaces Respond to Domestic Abuse\, a lunch 'n learn presented by Hope House of South Central Wisconsin. On Wednesday\, October 4th from noon-1pm at Schwarz Insurance\, you'll hear Jess Kaehny\, Hope House's Community Education Program Manager\, discuss how to make your workplace safer by proactively addressing domestic violence. She'll share best practices for supporting employees who are experiencing domestic violence\, Hope House services and the role of an advocate\, as well as national resources from Workplaces Respond\, such as a model policy and a restraining order guide.\n\n \n\nJess Kaehny has a BA from UW-Madison. She has worked at Hope House from 16 years providing education to thousands of community members on issues related to domestic and sexual abuse awareness and prevention.
