Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation Good Neighbor Ride

Join us on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 (rain date Thursday, May 22, 2025) for the 3rd Annual Good Neighbor Ride. Bike with us on the Great Sauk State Trail to honor the legacy of Dr. Haakon Carlson, a Prairie clinic physician and founder of the Good Neighbor Clinic, a free community clinic whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people who face financial, cultural or language barriers that keep them from accessing quality healthcare.

The Good Neighbor Ride will begin in the Good Neighbor Clinic parking lot, 95 Lincoln Ave., Prairie du Sac, at 5:15 pm with brief opening remarks; the ride beginning shortly thereafter. The Great Sauk State Trail does require a trail pass to ride on the trail. The passes are $5 for a daily pass or $25 for a yearly pass. These can be purchased at various locations:

• Sauk Prairie Chamber
• Sauk City Village Hall
• Prairie du Sac Village Hall
• Sauk County Clerk's Office
• Sauk County Parks and Recreation Office
• Self-serve station on the trail (near the Ruth Culver Library).  

The destination of our ride is Dr. Carlson's memorial bench located near 11S (between mile markers 8 and 9) on the Great Sauk State Trail. This route is about 6.5 miles to the bench, 13 miles round trip. But you can choose to bike farther or shorter, depending on your comfort level. 

The Good Neighbor Ride is sponsored by Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation and the donations raised will benefit the Good Neighbor Clinic. While we do not require a registration fee, a $25 suggested donation is appreciated. Those who donate $125 or more will receive a custom Good Neighbor Ride bike jersey.
