Nutrition Program Supervisor

We are searching for a motivated leader to manage the Nutrition Program that includes the continuously growing programs of Meals on Wheels & Dining Centers within Sauk County.

The purpose of the Nutrition Program Supervisor is to perform basic nutrition assessments, education, counseling for older adults and adults with disabilities for Sauk County Aging and Disability Resource Center following the protocols of the Older Americans Act (OAA), State policies and procedures for the nutrition programs.

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Monitor operations and actions of all nutrition sites; including dining center managers, dining center volunteers and home delivered meal drivers.
  • Review reports, accounts and forms for accuracy and completeness and prepare monthly/annual report.
  • Train Elderly Nutrition Program personnel: dining center managers, volunteers and home-delivered meal drivers; assign tasks; maintain standards; direct and review staff work; coach and/or counsel staff; and help develop staff/volunteer schedule.
  • Perform all administrative work related to the Elderly Nutrition Program.
  • Participate in nutrition education with the Aging Coordinator for nutrition program participants and the elderly population. 
  • Ensure compliance with GWAAR and ServSafe nutrition policies.
  • Ensure assessments/reassessments of applicants are completed and entered into a database to determine eligibility for the Home-Delivered Meals program.
  • Prepare/review a variety of reports including, weekly meal logs, participant dietary information, food temperature logs, HDM client donation letters and home-delivered meal assessments.
  • Track need and usage of all nutrition supplies.
  • Facilitate Dining Center Manager and Nutrition Advisory Council meetings.
  • Maintain food safety standards according to local, state and federal codes.
  • Coordinate and distribute farmer’s market coupons, filing necessary reports.
  • Refer clients to other agencies and specialists.
  • Participate in formulating long and short-term plans for the Nutrition Program.
  • Develop and implement participant and client surveys and needs assessments.
  • Maintain all relevant certifications
  • And other duties as assigned.
 

Required Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.  Please note these hours are subject to change and additional hours may be needed or required.  Compensation for additional hours beyond normal working hours are subject to applicable state and federal regulations.

 

 

Minimum Training and Education

 

Required:

2 years of experience in a Senior OAA nutrition program or related nutrition service

Associate’s degree in Nutrition or another related field

Certification:

ServeSafe certified within six months of hire

Valid Wisconsin State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

Preferred:

Registered Dietician credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a Human Services related field

2 years of experience in a supervisory role
