May Vision Center

Dr. Nikki Bennett Fasbender is a clinically bilingual therapeutic optometrist who grew up in Merrimac, Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison while working at May Vision Center, where she developed her passion for ocular health. She later received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry.

Dr. Fasbender practiced for seven years at the Mann Eye Institute in Houston, focusing on ocular disease and surgical co-management, before returning to Wisconsin in 2021 as the primary optometrist at May Vision Center–Reedsburg. She is a member of the American and Wisconsin Optometric Associations.

Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her husband, Matt, and their son, Vaughn.

Dr. David K. May opened May Vision Center in 2006 after recognizing a need for quality eye care in Waunakee and the surrounding area. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry, along with his diagnostic and therapeutic pharmacological license.

Dr. May is an active member of the American and Wisconsin Optometric Associations, the Madison Area Optometric Association, and local service organizations including Waunakee Rotary and Lions Club. His honors include Wisconsin Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year, Optometrist of the Year, and Waunakee Business Person of the Year.

Outside of work, Dr. May enjoys hunting, golfing, and traveling with his wife, Candie, and their two children.
