Job Overview: Tail Society Dog Care exists to meet dogs' individual needs, give owners the connection to their dog they crave, and build routines where both can thrive. We do this through a reliable, well trained team of dog walkers working together to care for our full client list, rather than each managing a separate list on their own.

As a Professional Dog Walker, you'll get to know each pup's personality and routine, follow their lead, and keep them safe and comfortable during every visit. This is a part-time W2 position with structured training, a schedule built around the days you commit to, and clear opportunities to advance into higher paying roles as you grow with us. It's not a gig job to pick up a walk here and there.

  • Getting to know each dog's personality, routine, and preferences
  • Taking photos and providing detailed storytelling updates during visits
  • Following written care instructions and keeping accurate visit notes
  • Communicating with management about your availability and schedule, and supporting teammates regularly in the group chat
  • Driving between visits
  • Monitoring the health and safety of dogs in your care
  • Handling waste cleanup and other routine care tasks

Skills and Functions Necessary

  • Patience, especially with nervous or high energy dogs, and the ability to problem solve in the moment

  • Comfortable working independently without direct supervision

  • Must be available at least 15 hours per week, across at least 3 days, during standard hours (9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday); shifts typically run 3 to 5 hours
  • Must have a smartphone with internet access and GPS
  • Physical: able to walk dogs outdoors in all Wisconsin weather, lift up to 40 lbs, and bend/kneel/squat as needed
  • Must pass a background check, including criminal and motor vehicle record checks (information regarding pending charges or convictions will only be given consideration if the offense is substantially related to the job or as otherwise permitted by applicable law)

Benefits

  • Paid training in dog body language, safe handling, Fear Free practices, and pet first aid/CPR
  • A structured, supportive team
  • Clear pay progression starting at $13.50/hr as a Provisional Team Member, then advancing through Full Team Member, Trainer, or Team Lead, up to $17/hr or more
