Merrimac Railroad Bridge Rehabilitation Complete, Strengthening Regional Industry
The Merrimac Railroad Bridge in the Town of West Point, WI has officially reopened following a $25.5 million rehabilitation project completed on April 29, 2026. Federal, state, and local partners collaborated to upgrade the 2,200-foot bridge to modern standards, allowing it to support full-capacity rail cars up to 286,000 pounds.
